About Us

Dina Wyshogrod, PhD

I love teaching people ways to be happier and healthier, to shift out of negative experiences and limiting beliefs, so that they can become “the best that they can be.”  To do so, I bring in everything I know from my own life as well as years of training and experience as a licensed clinical and medical psychologist and mindfulness expert.

I pioneered bringing a particular research-based form of mindfulness, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), to Israel, establishing MBSR-ISRAEL in 2002.  I am the senior MBSR teacher and trainer in Israel, certified as such by the Center for Mindfulness, USA, where MBSR was developed.  I train professionals and members of the general public in mindfulness approaches both in Israel and internationally, and integrate it into my clinical work with my clients.  I am also a certified yoga teacher.

I’ve seen what a difference mindfulness has made in my own life, and I can’t wait to share that with you on this trip, as I’ve done on each of our incredible previous Mindful India trips.  Being mindful indeed helps sharpen our senses and become more attuned to everything around us.  I anticipate that those skills will be particularly meaningful as we explore the wonders of Africa.

Like many of you, this will be my first trip to Africa, and I am very excited.  I am looking forward to exploring together how being mindful can enhance our journey, and to helping you develop a powerful skill that will support you long after you return home.

Rachelle Oseran

I am a certified Yoga and Pilates instructor and childbirth educator with over 30 years of teaching experience, including co-directing Great Shape/YMCA, the Group Exercise Department of the Jerusalem International YMCA, for 23 years.  I specialize in MBCP (Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting), an official off-shoot of MBSR and the only program of its kind in Israel. On our 10 previous Mindful India trips, I have enjoyed teaching how to find grounding and ease in the body, both in times of stress and in everyday life, and I look forward to exploring this with you in Africa.

I have traveled extensively, including living in Asia for a year, and have organized "off the beaten track" trips for many years.  I was born and raised in Zimbabwe and went to the University of Cape Town. I went on safari every year with my family when I was growing up and have a deep appreciation for Africa’s natural beauty. I am passionate about this part of the world and look forward to sharing with you the land, people, culture, music and literature of Southern Africa.
